The ruins of Trajan’s Bridge

Trajan’s Bridge was made by Apolodor of Damasc, architect of the Column, between the spring of 103 and the spring of 105, on the Lower Danube, on the east of the Iron Gates, close to the town Drobeta Turnu Severin. The scope was to transport of the roman troops leaded by Trajan and the needed supplies for the secondary military campaign of conquering Dacia, leaded by Decebal.
